Jakey 'No Definition' Stringer.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

The obligatory “Jakes flying “ story
God, heard this story a few times

BORDERLINE FLYING

Re: Essendon
He'd be close to leading the B&F this year, and really should be in the All Australian conversation.

Please world never give him a pilots licence, with a vocabulary like his...

Re: Essendon
A small part me, buried deep always believes it too.... in comparison his career is an underperformance compared to Macrae (except 2015) but his potential is immense....

Is "borderline flying" a euphemism for "Completely off my guts most of the time?"
The lack of definition in his arms are stunning for a league footballer.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Will be 26 in April, and basically he has turned out to be an average player.

He screams "no attention to detail", where just getting through every session is enough. Players of his ability who become extremely good players aren't spoken of in terms of just doing all the main sessions to get the most out of themselves, they're spoken of as players who do the extras to get even more out of themselves.
Jake won't ever be spoken of that way.

Re: Essendon
Harsh on Stringer - he is one of the most naturally talented players in the competition.
He'll never be more than a bit-part mid though, he's a much better burst player than an endurance mid.
I'm a big fan of playing players to their strengths (it's the reason Bevo is the complete opposite of B-Mac), so I hope Essendon who are bereft of dangerous consistent forwards keep the 'Stringer to the midfield' experiment. He's probably a flashy mid who has an excellent highlights reel but average production, or an possible AA forward. Daniher is out and Orazio is excellent but can't get on the paddock much either. Who kicks their goals. Hooker? Robs their backline, especially if Hurley keeps his niggles.

He is another Coodabeen. His stats are ordinary, except for his 56 goals in 2015.

Re: Essendon
You know who else is flying? Connor McKenna. Literally. To Ireland. So he doesn’t have to play for Essendon anymore.
This club is a trash fire.

Re: Essendon
I hope they fall off the cliff, have a massive list exodus, the coach thing implode and truly achieve everything they deserve.

Long may it reap fruit.
