From the govt. The AFEL should’ve made a decisive decision well before now. Like major sports administrators all over the world.

It’s just so clear that the AFL knows they shouldn’t play this week but so desperately want to, which is pretty much how I’m feeling about it as well.
It’s an agonising slow burn with an obvious conclusion; I get it but please give it up already.

I think the financial position of the AFL and many of the clubs is so precarious that they genuinely fear that any delays/cancelled season will put them to the wall.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Meanwhile we are still half arsed in this country as we are scared of the economic impact and no concern for health and well being first.
For starters, just imagine the train and trams in the morning jam packed - I am glad I work from home. My wife walks to work.
Turkey also has 3.5 million refugees sitting in border camps in close proximity with one another - if the virus spreads there it would be a disaster.

Lions are $10m in debt and just posted their first profit for 12 years. They are facing a $5m hit just from playing with no crowds as they get a lot of gate revenue.
Edit - the AFL are rumoured to be sitting on a $110m 'future fund' for times of crisis. They're well placed to cover one year of an interrupted season. If it stretches into next year things could get dire.
NRL and ARU would be shitting bricks.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has just announced a ban on INDOOR non-essential gatherings of 100 people or greater, plus OUTDOOR non-essential gatherings of 500.

Open the roof and we’re still on.
Anyone know of any other available outdoor grounds with lighting, reasonable proximity to the city (say, within 7.6kms of the CBD), fit for TV broadcast and furnished with AFL-standard amenities for players?

Surely they are taking bets on the total number of infections or the death toll?

Both categories actually, in a multi. Remember, bet responsibly.

And a few teammates with him right? Do the AFLPA realise what is going on outside of football? 1 player is all it takes.

It's Wuhan oval in West Footscray that you're thinking of I reckon...
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
