I couldn't think of a worse place than Tassie to be in the middle of winter.
Did you go to any of the Darwin matches in the early 2000s? I went to two matches and the humidty was shocking. The players on the bench had ice packs around their necks as well as a cool room.
Footy is a winter sport.

Yep its extremely unlikely that players will get through a season rife with 5 day breaks in Darwin. It's basically a hothouse even in the evening. I also went to a game 10 years or so ago and the ball is also like a cake of soap some nights.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Yep - I went in 2008 and the humidity was far from shocking being dry season. How would you describe the humidity in wet season?
It would certainly have it's challenges but I don't think 2 or 3 games there would kill anyone. They have managed a local competition successfully for quite a while now and a good portion of the players are from Victoria in case you want to use some sort of acclimatisation argument.

More pressing, where is the team going to train, given West Footscray has been roped into the lock-down? Maybe the team gets an exemption, as the ground borders Footscray, which is in the clear.

You can leave your suburb for four reasons, one is to go to your work place if you can't work from home.

Re: 2020 Fixture
Looks like Geelong will struggle to play any further games at their narrow **** hole in 2020.
What a shame
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Ruined a pair of leather gloves and a pair of binoculars at the windy, horrible venue. Will be fascinating to see how they go without home ground advantage incl. umps pleasing their vocal supporters.

Not a good record for us at that ground.

They are not as good when they are away from there.
