Re: Injury List - 2020
We’re managing to cover injuries for now but really need a good run over the next few weeks.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Poor Jongy!
He has looked good in a different role over the past few weeks and he just can't get a good run at it.
Big props for coming back on after 1/2 time when he was clearly struggling... if nothing else he has given his all for the jumper and lots of respect for him for doing so.

Yeah, over the years I’ve become conditioned to not getting my hopes up looking at this list. I always think, gee in 6 weeks we’ll be flying but of course over those 6 weeks the injuries keep piling up. Let’s hope we get a bit of luck from the injury gods for once!

When his career finally ends nobody will ever be able to say he didn't get as much out of himself as he could have.
What a warrior.

Lloyd ahead of schedule
Dangerous forward Sam Lloyd could be a chance to return to football this week.
The 30-year-old sustained a shoulder injury in the Western Bulldogs’ round four win against Sydney and has missed the past two matches.
However, Lloyd could pull on a guernsey on Friday, with the Bulldogs to take on Essendon at both AFL level and in a reserves scratch match.
“Sam has recovered quicker than expected from his shoulder injury,” medical services manager, Chris Bell, said.
“He is now back into full training and we will determine his availability over the coming days.”
Star midfielder Josh Dunkley took an important step in his rehabilitation today, running for the first time since injuring his ankle in the final seconds of the Bulldogs’ round three win against the GWS Giants.
“Josh is making good progress with his recovery and started running today,” Bell said.
“We will be in a position to be more accurate with his return to play plan over the coming weeks, but we expect him to return in the next four-to-six weeks.”
Key defender Ryan Gardner, who was withdrawn as an emergency from last week’s game due to calf tightness, will be assessed this week.
“Ryan had some calf tightness from training the day before the game and was withdrawn,” Bell said.
“His symptoms are improving and we will make a call on his availability later this week.”
Injury list
Ryan Gardner (calf) test
Sam Lloyd (shoulder) test
Taylor Duryea (quad) 4-6 weeks
Josh Dunkley (ankle) 4-6 weeks
Aaron Naughton (ankle) 4-6 weeks
Lin Jong (ankle) 4-6 weeks
Riley Garcia (knee) Indefinite
Good that the boys not in the team will get a chance to push their case in a scratch match on Friday.

Re: Injury List - 2020
That's good news to have Garner and Lloyd so close to being available. There is a significant gap for Duryea, Dunkley, Naughton and Jong though

One small step for AstroNaught
Key forward Aaron Naughton has moved one step closer to making his return from injury.
The rising star has missed the past three games, after injuring his ankle in the Bulldogs’ round four win against Sydney.
But he has now begun some low-level running following surgery.
“Aaron is going well after his syndesmosis ankle surgery,” medical services manager, Chris Bell, said.
“He has commenced running and will continue to progress over the next couple of weeks.
“We’re optimistic that we’ll see him back in the next four to six weeks.”
The Bulldogs had a clean sheet on the injury front on Friday across both the AFL match and scratch match.
Forward Sam Lloyd made a successful return from his shoulder injury, while Ryan Gardner has resumed training following a calf injury.

Josh Dunkley (ankle) 3-5 weeks
Taylor Duryea (quad) 3-5 weeks

Still up to 6 weeks away!
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

The original from the Swans game was, to my recall, 4-6 weeks.
Now we get an update indicating good progress and it remains 4-6 weeks.
Our injury reports have always been like this.
Based on the injury and assuming the recovery is the same, he should be close the week after Dunkley. Unfortunately that concurs with the timeline given for Dunkley.
Jong went down the next week with the same injury and he is on the same timeline as Naughts.
Hopefully they are giving a conservative outlook and all will be available just a little quicker.
