Landing both Saad and Williams will really give their forwards some quick entry

We have three All-Australians this year who have earned whatever contract they're on, JJ who we know got a good contract, Keath, Trengove and Bruce presumably on decent money. I guess that suggests there's a bit of both....overpaying and appropriately rewarding.
I wonder if the Naughton/Hunter longer contracts have been front-ended at all.

He is definitely capable in terms of skillset, but my question mark would be over his durability in that role. I think he will be a definite win for the Blues.
I also think Jack Martin is pretty close to the elite category.

Re: 2020 Player movement
[QUOTE=bornadog;703181]Therein lies the issue and why we have to manufacture something each week.
I have mentioned this before, (in mid season), what about working on Schache and coaching him to be a second ruck/forward? He most likely played some ruck as a junior (I don't know, need to check). He played that role a few times last year and I thought he did well.
Before people start shooting me down, I haven't seen any realistic options suggested on this board that the club would follow. Agree Goldy and McEvoy or even Pruess will not happen.
The other thing we should do is Draft another developing ruck for the future.
Josh Schache spent his junior years ruckman/forward for the Seymour Lions. Not sure what age though.

Not sure how they're luring these players. Essendon will be mortified he nominated the old enemy. Think the Dodo fun is about to begin. Podium in their b and f two years running he will want Cripps.

Re: 2020 Player movement
How the F do they get these players? And how the hell do they fit them into their salary cap ? Must be a bottomless pit. No way can they afford all of Williams, saad, Martin, McGovern, curnow and Cripps, plus Murphy, weitering and the likes. Geez.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Re: 2020 Player movement
Annnnnd the Essendon implosion continues with Saad , that’s a big blow.
Seems a very unhappy playing group ,
Rutten as the new coach obviously hasn’t bought Any hope or excitement to them, huge worry there. Should be a honeymoon period but it’s turning into a huge exit.
Bring back the biff

Any decent Bombers we should be talking to?

Bruce should have been on JobKeeper, at the reduced casual rate.

Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.
