I'd like us to be much more aggressive. Hell, the one time we were, it delivered us a flag.
They also had nobody of any quality to pay money to, and could offer ample opportunities across the park to incoming players. Neither of those are so simple for a side that has a number of All-Australians/premiership players with a strong midfield and clear opportunities only in the lower rungs of the 22. I feel like it's a lot simpler to refresh a list at the bottom of the ladder, than a list like ours - it is one of the potential benefits of Dunkley leaving.

Yep, agreed the JD. We're in a much tighter spot than the Saints and if they don't get success from this they're going to have to churn again.

Let's revisit it after the Dunkley trade.

Yep, can't argue with any of that but it does make our two losses to them / them overtaking us hard to swallow. We're treading water with our list at the moment.

Yes they beat us twice this year, but they haven't overtaken us. They won the same amount of H&A games as us and beat us by 3 points in a final
I prefer our list to theirs.

I struggle with why Peter Wright goes for a pick in the 4th round
Surely he is worth another role of the dice for a team as a defender or 2nd ruckman?

Probably on a sizable contract so GC are prioritising getting his salary off the books over the draft compensation

I understand that would be a consideration but North would have a huge amount of cap space and he would fit a rebuilding team.

I guess quasi free agency takes effect when a player nominates a specific club. The total system is not working right.

I completely disagree with this TBB. Our list has, particularly given we won a flag a few years ago (yep, that did happen), undergone a huge amount of transition and we're only starting to get/ figure out the balance we need.
Any reasonable assessment of a list going through a considerable rebuild would look at our last two years and suggest we're tracking correctly. I guess the hard part is convincing people we've been rebuilding for a few years now.
