Re: Ekers
Would we count Mumford , apparently going around again.
His job is just to run at the other ruckman or anyone that gets in the way.

Far out Ledge, gave me a heart attack. I thought I'd clicked on the player movement thread and you were suggesting we get Mumford.

Bahaha only if we want someone bouncing off the ropes into people.

Re: Ekers
Some are destined to rise and peak
Others are earmarked to flat line and eke
They're journeymen workhorses, they play without flair
They're solid, they're stolid, they don't go the lair
The eker is called on to plug up a hole
He's a fill in, a back up, a roll of the dice
But when called on to front up
He's there in a trice.
He's ready to go and give it his all
He'll run through a brick wall to get his hands on the ball
Not blessed with talent or blistering pace
Life played in the shadows is his unhappy fate
But where would we be if there were no ekers?
Life would be poorer, life would be bleaker
And we'd forego the pleasure of this thread we call Ekers.

Hard to get a rhyme for Eker/s.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Re: Ekers
A sad day with elite eker Jacob Townsend delisted by the bombers.
60 games across 9 seasons with 3 clubs is some elite ekeing. To also eke out a flag in that time is something to behold.
If he can manage a 4th club he would have to be in hall of fame territory.

He won the Liston medal in the VFL too I think.

An Eker of the highest order.
Keeps his job for building a list that hasn’t won a final for 16 years.
Congratulations to the bombers for keeping him in the job. You are doing a very good service to the other 17 clubs by keeping him.

I believe he first came to the bombers in 2001 in some form.
I would love to make it 19 years if possible.

A move to the Demons would make Phillips the first player to play for four clubs since Ben Hudson (Adelaide, Western Bulldogs, Brisbane and Collingwood) retired in 2013.
TRADE TRACKER All the deals as they drop
Phillips, 29, played 14 games for Greater Western Sydney from 2012-2015 before moving to Carlton for a four-year stint that netted 27 matches.
Last October he was the first player to be traded between the Blues and Bombers for 16 years and played five games for the Bombers behind Sam Draper and Tom Bellchambers this season.
Phillips has signed a one year extension with the Dons - great news for an eke-ing legend

46 games in 8 years and another to come , fair effort.
Notice he has never played in a side that’s up and about though.
An eker in the extreme as he travelled from one bad club to another to continue his career.

Not just one bad club after another, but in his last move he was able to drag his new club below his previous bad club on the ladder.

Funny how we rate other teams lists, Ling Jong only three more games across same amount of seasons.

Loses points for being a 1 club player and injuries being the primary reason for his low games tally. He's in the conversation though.
