Re: Events Thread
I arrived at Bell's for the work function at about 1530 and there were a few still left over, but didn't get a chance to head up to see if you were there mate until after I caught up with work folks.
Hope you had a good day mate.
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Re: Events Thread
It was a great lunch. A different type of meal, was like a mini buffet with the choice of 3 meats and vegetables brought to the table to serve yourself. Dessert was the same with a variety of cakes etc to choose from..
We got there about 11.40am went up to the room and while the function was due to start until 12.00pm we were able to get drinks on the tab early.
Everyone who attended had an enjoyable time.

Re: Events Thread
Nice that Brian and Rocket did it together.
Would have been some dicey moments back in the day between those two when Brian would go full space cadet, but on the flip side, he was an absolute roller gold A grade star during those prelim years and probably the first magnet on the board each week.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Why do we keep getting Cooney when he's so overtly a Bummer now?

A lot of ex players come to the nights, Crossy was at Melbourne as a coach when he attended once.
My only real gripe with Cooney is that a few times he's made reference of Essendon being better than at the Dogs and I don't think that is the case. He should look closely at why he was let got from us and fess up that some of it was of his doing.
By the way, It's still not 100% certain the event will go ahead. Very likely but not 100% as far as I know.

I think it would be good if we could bring him into the fold.
From a pragmatic POV he also has his son coming through

Because the email probably goes out and he needs the payday.

Hopefully we can turn him back from the forces of evil. I guess if he hated the club so much he wouldn't come back and do these, in spite of the cashy.

You'd be surprised what kind of bile could be swallowed if the pay day is large enough.

Re: Events Thread
I'm still not certain if the Legends and Young Guns night hosted by East West Club will proceed, they aren't processing payments until late next week.
By the way, no Young Gun players will be there due to Covid considerations which is fair enough.
Covid has also stopped the Player Sponsors night until after the end of the season.
