He was close to getting there with us but just couldn't find enough of the footy. Good luck to him.

Schache article. I like him & hope he does well, except against us. His manager Trotter says he loved the dogs and didn’t really want to leave but wanted to play AFL.

I reckon he had plenty and never really delivered. However the Marra frustration I get. Tough one managing the egos.

Agree. He was a polarising figure on WOOF. I was in the camp he wasn't given a fair run in the senior side in one position. Others disagree.

Agree, I think he had his opportunities but fluffed it. He is still only 25 and should start to hit his peak. Good luck to him

Schache quit in games in like 4 consecutive years. He had plenty of chances and kept failing in the exact same way.
Where is Danjul anyway?

I liked him mostly, but feel like he had enough opportunities. At some point it was on him to really seize them.

Re: Following our ex's...................
I think Bruce and of recent times Marra have had much more rope... that said, Marra will be better so why not give him priority, and I suspect Bruce is kind of a fave cause he "tries" or seems to try always.

Re: Following our ex's...................
There are always hard luck stories with selection and Schache was unlucky at times. However he never full grasped his opportunities either.
On form he certainly deserved a game over Marra at last year but we obviously prioritised his development over rewarding Josh's form and it's hard to argue against that long term.
Good luck to him but I won't miss the weekly Schache debates on here. It will be all about the weekly Sweet debates in 2023!

Re: Following our ex's...................
Josh you just don’t have the angry pills to secure a spot in the forward line
He played a grand final and did not do enough to stem the flow after half time
Jammarra is well ahead of him as a forward
There was a screaming need fill role as an intercepting defender , why he did not put his hand up like Bruce has ? He could have been that unique Rick/def dpp. Bruce read the work place organisation and knew where he stood , who was picked ahead of Josh in the EF
https://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/n...mination-final
Wieddaman out ( who got out marked several times by Jong at VFL grand final 2016 ) in Josh
I don’t want to call him any names or accuse him of being soft
I just hope he goes to kick lots of goals against other teams other than us

Re: Following our ex's...................
I think if you go through my posts you'd probably see I agree with Schache in regards to lack of opportunity at times. He just didn't seem to get enough rope like some other players. All that being said it seemed between the ears with him. He has a lot of the tools to be a very good player but like someone said earlier "quits" in game. Sadly he doesn't have the mental toughness to be an AFL footballer and I'd be very surprised to see him turn it around and make us pay unless it's at VFL level. Too harsh?
