I always felt sorry for Lake especially after the way Eade incorrectly publicly shamed him for faking an injury.
He might have had a tough time with us.

I feel really bad for Lake that has happened. He was one of our best full backs we ever had, Hawks saw that and maximised with the 3 premierships and a Norm Smith.

I worry may have contributed to his negativity with the club and his mental state. Its honestly sad such a great player has left like this.
Honestly to his credit he managed to play with the Hawks to get such an amazing return. Hawthorn were the true winners of his demise with us.

Robbie 'Bones' McGhie was Richmond's homecoming hero for round 4.
It's a good concept, I wish we would do something similar.

Nice to see David Cloke there too (he really has slimmed down Balmy)

During Gather Round I headed down to Hoppers Crossing to watch some local footy, not realising that Brian Lake was coaching Caroline Springs.
He looks in good health and spirits and he's got Springs playing some good football.

Accidentally clicked to page 1 of this thread, rather than new posts...quite funny reading everyone writing off Liam Jones and laughing at his terrible career move.
This thread was created in the heyday of feeling great as a dogs supporter - early Bevo, we're doing well and all the guys we traded were stinking it up.

Liam sucked as a forward.

Yep. The way I see it we simply ‘loaned’ Jones to Carlton for 95 games (just short of F/S) with 17 of these games as a ‘less than goal a game CHF’ (so 78 games as the defender he is now), in return for 159* games and counting from premiership player, B&F, All Australian, Caleb Daniel.
I’m still laughing…

You want some laughs go back to the threads where we drafted Bontempelli. Makes some great reading.
