She would be a Tier 1 player who the club can pay an unlimited amount of Additional Services Agreement (ASA) to in 2024. This unlimited amount which is available for two Tier 1 players ends under the new AFLPA CBA in 2025.

I doubt she will stay after that unless there is massive cultural and professional change at the club.

There is no one else on our list who deserves to be paid Tier 1.

There are a couple more names that have been mentioned:

Suns defender Lauren Ahrens has requested a trade to the Bulldogs, where she could be joined by her current teammate and fellow Gold Coast player Jasmyn Smith.

Brisbane forward Zimmie Farquharson has already joined the Bulldogs, traded for pick No.41 last Friday, while West Coast ruck Eleanor Hartill is also considering an offer from the Dogs but also has strong interest from Brisbane and Greater Western Sydney.

It’s ok to change the list but it’s all the other stuff around the players that seems the problem . Have we even got a coach yet ? What’s happening with higher up changes?

Moody to Carlton is done, with Gavalas and Laloifi coming back our way.

Crikey Moody too. She's a good player. Seems like a huge cohort of our senior players had/have issues with the team. That's really disappointing considering we made finals the previous season.

Moody leaving may have been to play with her sister, more than having issues with the Dogs, but jeez it bites.

AFL.com has consistently reported that Laloifi wasn't offered a contract by Carlton so we surely would have picked her up as a Free Agent.

Gavalas was dropped by North for the finals, so they would be delighted with receiving pick 25 for her.

Geez losing Lamb really tops things off. As GG said, her and Ellie are heart and soul. Her season performance was down as she had two injuries pre season so was behind the 8 ball from the start.

Some real class going out the door. Would like for the club to come out at the AGM and explain why this would be the case.

Might as well get whole new side apart from Blackburn, it’s a hard team to follow when every year you lose foundation players or number 1 picks. There is little loyalty in the men’s game but there is way less in aflw.

Where Trade Period's biggest deals sit ahead of Deadline Day

The countdown to the end of the trade period is on, with plenty of trades yet to be completed ahead of Thursday's 2pm AEDT deadline

A SERIES of the AFLW Trade Period's biggest deals look set to go down to the wire on Thursday's deadline day, with clubs still locked in talks over trades for Gabby Newton, Maddi Gay and Montana McKinnon among others.

But there had been a slight breakthrough on Wednesday afternoon, with the Western Bulldogs progressing in discussions over a significant three-club trade with Gold Coast and Port Adelaide that could help unlock other deals.

The proposal ? which remains up in the air ? would see Dogs defender Katie Lynch move to the Suns in exchange for pick No.14, as well as veteran defender Lauren Ahrens and youngster Jasmyn Smith.

The Bulldogs would then on-trade pick No.14 and All-Australian midfielder Kirsty Lamb to Port Adelaide and receive pick No.4 in return, adding to the No.1 pick they already hold due to their last-placed finish in season 2023.

That proposal could also help the Bulldogs begin next Monday night's AFLW draft with three top-six selections, given Fremantle has put forward pick No.6 as a starting point in negotiations for star forward Newton.

But the trade appears incumbent on other deals happening elsewhere, with Gay's move to Essendon and McKinnon's defection to Richmond also needing to go through before Thursday's 2pm AEDT trade deadline.

Newton is a #1 pick, and with 3-4 years of development she's worth less. Great!

Didn't she have an ACL at some stage

No. She did have a dual shoulder reconstruction that caused her to miss the whole of season 6 (the first one of 2022) but she's recovered from that.

According to Sam Landsberger, the 11 club trade was designed by our list manager. Given the crap hand he was dealt and the number of balls that were up in the air, he's done well.

Smith (a small) and McKee (a key forward) are young, fringe players from the Suns and Lions respectively.
