But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

We don't mention Pav. He's literally the best (or at least versatile based best) footballer to grace the planet the past twenty or so years.
Stupid dickhead was dumb enough to stay with Freo. It's his fault we don't rate him.

Shit, I'd forgotten about Fev who did so well in such a shit team.
And Gehrig.
There's allegedly a very funny story about Fraser drunk as a skunk at a bar next to the daughter of a Victorian police detective. Do you know that story?

Re: How do you rate Tom Hawkins against his peers this century?
Hawkins does the common things uncommonly well. He's not the human highlights package like some of his contemporaries but he is absolutely bankable and so reliable for his team (and has been for 320 of his 350 games).
He's an inferior Dunstall, which is actually high praise indeed. If you want the individual awards or the highlight reel, you would prefer others. But in the business of winning premierships, he is as effective as any key forward has been to his team this century.

Re: How do you rate Tom Hawkins against his peers this century?
Hawkins has improved since he turned 30, which is notable as very few players improve late in their career (Ted Richards form 28 or 29 a notable example).
There are probably 'better' KPFs that aren't as positive for their team as Hawkins is the epitome of selfless, especially in forward terms. He need to be judged on assists as much as goals, and is arguably the best F50 ball-in player the game has ever seen.

He might not be top 5 (I agree that you've got Buddy, Riewoldts, Kennedy, Lloyd ahead of him) overall, but he's probably the one who I would most like to be in a forward line with.
He has made the players around him better than the others on that list, in my opinion.

Re: How do you rate Tom Hawkins against his peers this century?
He was critical to one of their flags (can?t recall which) where he really came of age.
He?s also been able to stay relevant in an evolving game and his durability and longevity is the envy of many of his peers.
On pure ability and ?game changing influence? he doesn?t rate as highly as soon of his peers, but it?s an incredible record and if we had a forward with his record they?d instantly be in our team of the century.

Can’t remember the year but he also kicked a goal after the siren in a final against the Hawks to win the game.
Amazingly consistent player who I’ve always enjoyed watching,
