I understand that this sort of thing can be very important.
Or a younger brother with a VFL contract maybe?

Yeah - thanks GG. When I was coaching at the Jets Darley was part of our zone.

Nothing like Zac Butters came out of Darley. Or Bacchus Marsh. Cal Ward came out of Spotswood and Mitch Banner came out of wherever he came out of if you're looking for a time-stamp. But Darley...yeah - that was a place in our zone which may as well have been a black hole.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

I played juniors with the current Melton coach.

Sam Darley played for South (ex dogs) and had 53 touches..!

Butch Edwards was heavily involved at Melton for years but one year his son got dropped for a grand final and had played all year so the clan left and went to Darley.
Darley has come up over the years.
They have a market there every Sunday in summer.

He has taken over from Timmsy who has gone back to Albion coaching juniors.
Sam has inherited a great squad, melton bloods are extremely well run they don’t chase ex AFL players and are very successful.
They have the Kight brothers, both gun players , one was playing at Footscray cricket club district cricket , they also have the Sullivan brothers, Jordan Cotter and Lachlan Watkins the younger brother of the captain of Nths reserves I believe.
My great nephews played at melton sth a few years ago in juniors , I was at the ground yesterday , very sad how that club had ended up.

Yeah I go back to the 70s and 80s, growing up in braybrook , a few ended up at melton bloods, when I moved up there I caught up with a few , some are still there doing committee stuff.

No private school that way IIRC, which for some ungodly reason matters greatly to Vic based recruiters.
