Honestly, it’s getting crazy how much the major parties spend on this shithole when there’s there’s crisis’ in so many areas of society.

I note the next big events at Kardinia Park include 4 home games for Geelong through to August 2024.
A stadium for the people of Geelong (provided you love the Cats!)
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

We can't talk with most of the Whitten Oval funding coming through Governments

We became a university to save the Whitten oval precinct , extremely smart move, we just claim projects as university upgrades .

We haven't had 55 stages of redevelopment like they have had for their shithole, it's apples and oranges. Enough already, they've had $500m of pork-barrelling spent on Shithole Stadium for no other reason than greater Geelong is a marginal electorate and one of the fastest growth corridors for swinging voters.
Although I agree with your general premise that taxpayer expenditure on ''community'' projects are not properly costed and evaluated, and in this tough economic climate this largesse needs to be significantly reined in. We can't keep kicking the debt can down the road - you eventually run out of other people's money. If you can't afford to fix the potholes on the roads, build hospitals for desperate communities in growth areas and commit to mental health funding instead of slashing it to pieces, you can do without some shiny new training facilities for footy clubs IMO.

Re: Geelong
You can also do stuff at Whitten Oval IIRC. Like in the facilities just not on the oval

C'mon BAD we received 15m in Federal funding. Over the past 10 years Geelong have received 340m in Government funding, and now an additional 4.1m for a scoreboard. The State Government has thrown in the most (260m). Now they get a scoreboard upgrade which will cost almost a third of our total development.
It's not for the people.
They're taking the piss.

Not exactly $15m. Where do you think the majority of the $80 million came from?

Re: Geelong
Gotta say I really enjoyed watching Geelong nearly win down there and then not. That stadium too often gets to go home happy.
I should leave it alone but you're not right
