    Re: Tigers V Bulldogs - Round 9, 11/5/24 MCG 7:30PM AEST

Great response tonight. Good to be at the G and experience a win for us like that.

Let's enjoy it and get some confidence going into the next few games which will be tougher.

The Tigers clearly are undermanned and not the team they used to be but you can only beat what is in front of you and we did it with flying colours tonight.

How did Richmond beat Sydney? That was only six weeks ago. They also pushed Carlton to five points. They looked miles off that tonight.

Question: we were everywhere tonight. All over them. We set-up really well and never gave them much breathing room. Sure we butchered it a lot still, but our structure and running was 2021 levels.

How much of that, if any, was aided by the woeful opposition? Was their lack of effort making it easier for us? Or did we really put in a much better effort? Probably a bit of both. I'm purely talking running and chasing here.

Even if the opposition is poor. You still need to be good to win by almost 100.

Marks inside 50 were 3 V 16. We really did smash them.

We had 116 more possesions yet still had nine more tackles than them.

We only lost two stats. They had more hit outs. They had more bounces. That is it.

Liam Jones is so good to watch live, he gave Bolton space at times but just always seem to make up the ground late to impact the contest. Having a great year we would be in all sorts without him.

Libba is one of my all time favourite bulldogs and would love to see him out there again soon but no doubt there is a silver lining in the fact we are getting a look at different mix in the midfield. Ed looked dangerous in there tonight and like many would love to see Garcia get a crack soon, he is growing in confidence every week.

I thought it was Tim's best game of the season by along way, he was really influential, strong in the contest like a ruckman should be. He was determined to hold front position, often jumped over Nank and ran hard off him to create an option ahead of the ball. His work rate was outstanding, his teammates missed him quite a few times when he made good position but like many needs to take more of his opportunities in front of goal. It's absolutely critical we get this version of Tim more weeks than not.

Richmond were bloody awful its hard to take way too much from that performance, this group really needs a scalp to lift its horizon in the short term.

    James Harmes

    27 touches
    89% disposal effeciency
    4 goals
    11 marks
    10 score involvements
    12 contested possesions

Decent game from Harmes where a lot of players did cash in. Good to see.

Thought that was O’Donnell best game by the length of the Flemington straight.

    AFL Timeline stat

"In the end it was a complete demolition by the Western Bulldogs. They won the inside 50 count by 36, generating 77 inside 50s, the most ever in the club's history. It was also the most inside 50s in a game by any side since 2022."

    Club record for inside 50s!

What we're trying to do with new players or players in new roles is slowly coming to the fore, and our percentage indicates a level of quality we can capitalise on. We are an outlier in the bottom half.

I'm actually excited about the next month of footy, I have a feeling or maybe hope we have already shown our worst. All games are massive challenges, at the same time none of our opponents will be comfortable right now looking ahead.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

How much further would it have been if Marra was in the game. Can we have back the Marra we had before he went on that short break something has got left behind where ever he went.

I don't know what Garcia's top speed is but his acceleration and bursting from the stoppage is something that we have needed in the seniors so badly. We also need to make sure that we're rotating him, Gags, Sanders through the middle even when everyone is fit.
