    Good pickup for the Crows.

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Will this be followed by: “Xavier O’Halloran has requested a trade to his beloved Bulldogs”?

    What other options are there?

Pruess - but would have to guarantee him maybe 50% time in the ruck?
    2MP - Can he ruck?

    Not many options out there.
There are a number of options but perhaps not that many that will suit Bevo's view on how we will go about it.
McEvoy might suit him but does he really cover the ground as a defender much better than Trengove?
He will have zero interest in Preuss and I don't think Wright is what he wants. If he was a better forward (1.5 goals per game type) then perhaps

Therein lies the issue and why we have to manufacture something each week.

I have mentioned this before, (in mid season), what about working on Schache and coaching him to be a second ruck/forward? He most likely played some ruck as a junior (I don't know, need to check). He played that role a few times last year and I thought he did well.

Before people start shooting me down, I haven't seen any realistic options suggested on this board that the club would follow. Agree Goldy and McEvoy or even Pruess will not happen.

The other thing we should do is Draft another developing ruck for the future.

EDIT: From his wiki page: Josh spent his early youth as a handy ruckman/forward for the Seymour Lions, a club based in the Seymour District Junior Football League.

I'm pretty sure I read in one of the scratch match reports that Schache played a bit of ruck time. I think it was his last game before his latest injury.

Reportedly 5 years at $650k. Carlton have tied up a massive portion of their salary cap in recruits over the past few years - McGovern, Martin and now Williams and Saad. All good players in their own right (well maybe not McGovern), but none are in the elite category. Remains to be seen if they can make them a serious contender.

Carlton are building a good list but their midfield is still rubbish outside of Cripps and Walsh. Dow is ordinary, Murphy is finished and the rest of the names are meh. Maybe Cunningham is solid.

If they can find 2 good mids they'll be a handful.

They finally found the drawer with all the paper bags in it and they’re determined to use them all.

We must be close to paying the minimum cap or we’re way overpaying a handful of players.

Last year's PF would suggest he will be able to handle a midfield role with aplomb. He was best on ground and absolutely outstanding in that game.
