I don't think he poleaxed him and I don't think it was a free.

Graded as "careless". He has eyes for nobody but the player from 10 metres away, commits to the bump really early, has no care for where or what the ball is doing, and connects with his shoulder to the head with no effort to minimise or avoid high contact. That does sound rather careless.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Just watch the replay with Walker as I didn't see the game and as much as I dislike Ling he called it correct and Walker did line him up from a long way out.

Re: MRP Thread 2018
It just bewilders me that Tex gets one week for a deliberate bump to the head and Redpath got 4 weeks for a jumper punch. I mean seriously there are some real nuffies working in this league and it just boggles the mind. Michael Christan has somehow done a worse job than the MRP panel of yesteryear did

Redpath’s suspension grows a week as every year passes.

2 weeks for a push, 1 week for an appeal and 1 week for a stupid rule about when he can and cannot play in a practise match

* Shannon Hurn cleared contact MHoneychurch. Hurn takes up a stationary position as Honeychurch comes towards him. It was view that Hurn did not have a realistic alternative way to approach the contest. No further action was taken.
* Jack Macrae can accept $2000 sanction, striking LShuey.
* Josh Dunkley can accept $1000 sanction, careless contact with umpire Chris Donlon.

Did Dunk's go for a 'high five' with the umpire and not a fully permissible 'low five'?

Eh. I'm surprised that Hurn didn't get a week, but not overly disappointed. I think he could have done more to avoid the contact, but don't think he did anything to exacerbate it.
I'm just glad Honeychurch isn't seriously hurt.

Where are we going with the game when we are talking about taking measures to avoid the contact.
Growing up, I was always told that football was a 'contact sport' !

Of course it is, but not in the head and not when the player hasn't got the ball.

Unless you hit him in the head with your knees as he is on the ground and has ball then you get the free kick.

Well, seeing as I need to spell it out for you, I think Hurn didn't need to tuck in when Honeychurch was in a vulnerable position. I think he had ample time to avoid potentially dangerous contact that is outside the rules of the game. At the very least he had enough time to put his hands out and soften the blow.
Sheesh. Why don't you just say "kick it properly".
