I love you BAD but you've lost the plot on this.
He knew he was late to the contest, he effectively ran the amber light, braced his body to protect himself and made a forcible contact to the player. Rowell might not have been injured but he had the stuffing knocked out of him.
Rioli is more than a bit lucky.

I am not the one who has lost the plot thank you.
I don't normally agree with the MRO, but they got this right and the Robinson one right.

No need I can see he's been hit in the head.

Except you have. I've posted photo evidence of head contact and you're still holding the line (your most admirable/infuriating trait).

Reminds me of the Michael Long / Troy Simmons bump in the 2000 GF.
Can cause a lot of damage. I'd be fine with a suspension.

sorry that is not evidence based on different angles.
If he actually hit the head (not brushed on the way down), then I would agree with you. Happens a hundred times in a match in packs etc Rowell had no concussion, or damage to the head. He did appear to be holding is chest.
Sorry if I infuriate you - like it or lump it.

I'm gonna lump it this time.
You're wrong, and I look forward to when this happens to one of our players you holding this ridiculous line.
Good day to you sir.

Re: "Not worth a thread" chat
Even if he didn't hit the head I'd argue that is purely luck based and not determined by any particular restraint on his part. The reckless action probably deserves some time off.

I agree.
The MRO were adamant last year that if you left the ground and made head high contact you would get weeks ... good to know that things have changed.

Not sure what he's doing there tbh other than trying a shirt front.

If Rowell had have come off the ground it's more than likely a 3 week holiday.

He didn't have his eyes on the ball, wasn't attempting a mark, jumped in the air late, braced himself for the contact and collected the only player who was focused on the ball high and with enough force to have his grasping for air. It had the potential to get nasty for Rowell.
Do you really think that happens a hundred times in a game?
We have to get past the notion that if no one is injured in a head high collision it's play on and nothing to answer for.
I don't really care either way but the AFL have got this wrong and it sets a precedent for the season now.

Bailey Smith hip was a bit of a surprise - does that mean the leaks have stopped?

Indeed - the question is, who was leaking to GJ (Grub Journalist). Have we heard of any departures from the club?
