Re: Fixture 2023
If you are going to Adelaide don't ignore this piece of crucial advice :-
"Fans attending the match though, were given a somewhat odd piece of advice by South Australian chief medical officer Nicole Spurrier, who advised fans to avoid touching the ball at all costs.
"Sometimes the ball, not that I've been to many football games, but I've noticed occasionally that it does get kicked into the crowd," she said.
"We are working through the details of what that will mean, but if you are at Adelaide Oval and the ball comes towards you, my advice to you is to just duck and do not touch that ball." And yes, she is still the CHO

The fixture for round one was released yesterday, but really why this weekend. - idiots
What was the good thing with playing Collingwood each year?

She should have been fired for this logic alone.

That was against Collingwood but had a zero crowd because of Covid. The last time we were given a round 1 home match against another Victorian team was 2010 when we hosted the Magpies.

Do we even make money from crowds at home games? I'm perfectly fine with having scheduled away games against Melbourne based teams. Have home games against interstate teams and have the stadium for ourselves and hopefully travel less

Did that change with AFL ownership. I never heard about the stadium deal changing and last I remember it was a set figure for reaching a certain number (and pretty shit money)

It's on us now to generate attendances. We will be aiming for close to 55K members next year which is a great number.
We have a great chance to build a rivalry with Melbourne.

It's a very good question. There used to be a break even crowd figure like 25k at Marvel but have no idea now.

Bulldogs’ round one fixture confirmed
The Western Bulldogs will open their
2022 AFL season with a blockbuster Saturday night clash against Melbourne.
From the Bulldogs website, will need to get a new flux capacitor for my Delorian.

English & Lobb v Gawn & Grundy. Bring it on. Wouldn't be surprised if Grundy is first ruck and Gawn starts off in forward line.
