I think he has retired reluctantly.

Well done Lakey. One of my favourite Doggies. Nice to see you go out a winner.

Re: Lake gone
Give him a year contract. If he was still with us we'd probably give him one more??

Gee he still looked very sharp this finals series. Would make our backline very old (but very talented). Now that would be a story.

Get him over 200 games for us.

Re: Lake gone
I wonder just how fat he'll get over the next 12 months?
You can just tell he'll pork up bigtime.

Interesting thought isn't it. If he was cheap enough why not. Has he retired from the game or just no longer required at Hawthorn.

Pushed out the door but publicly says he retired. He wanted to play on but the coach told him no.

Re: Lake gone
Would he be a delisted free agent? Then he's free of charge on an average salary. That would also mean we didn't have to throw the kitchen sink at a defender this trade period.

Thanks BAD.
Wonder how his relationship is with our club. Has it been burnt beyond repair? or was it only with our previous coaches that he had issues with.
Think it is definitely a move worth entertaining for the club. Sure he is old but he would certainly fill a key weakness, albeit it very short term. Next year we could very well be in a position to contest the top 4 and even a flag and his experience would be invaluable.

Re: Lake gone
Didn't we get Koby Stevens as part of that trade as well?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
