Re: Game of Thrones
Forgive me if I'm completely off, but even though GOT has a medieval-esque setting, I think I read sometime in the distant past that it's supposed to have a science-fictional background: ie. it is not on Earth per se, but is actually human civilisation going through its own evolution in a different time (possibly the far future, actually) and location, which is supposed to explain the weather patterns being on a such different timeframe from Earth's, the dragons etc.
Most of the finale was very satisfying, but it was very different to season 1 which wrapped up some story arcs neatly allowing the the 'clash of kings' stuff to take place. This one branched off in so many directions it was hard to get a good grip of where season 3 will take us.Time and Tide Waits For No ManComment

Re: Game of Thrones
Easily my favourite TV program, ever. I have read the books, up to the 3rd at the moment and love the whole set up. Great balance of political intrigue, violence, mystery and romance, everything is explicit and gruesome. Yet not overly so, it all works.
I like Arthurian type stories but not so much the sorcery aspect but the way magic and dragons etc exist in this world is agreeable with me. Enjoyable show.
