    Favourite All American Dad?

I'm nailing it down to two for arguments sake with apologies to Peter Griffen and Howard Cunningham. I know much will depend on age, but here goes:

    Homer Simpson

    Vs

    Al Bundy

For me it's a points decision for Bundy. My brother argues that Homer took off where Al finished, and there maybe some merit to that. But I think Al Bundy is a god.

I wonder if Al Bundy still has his secret stash of 'Big 'Uns' magazines? Or did Bud Bundy manage to find them?

I hope that Al still has them. While Bud got a hottie to make out with every episode, Al only got fat women's feet to measure. Although that made for great TV and one liners

David Faustino must have been shattered when they finished the show.

              No MA'AM

Al Bundy was the best, loved the way he would drop everything to watch an episode of Pyscho Dad.

Bundy seems to be doing a George Walker Bush, losing the primary vote but leading the electoral college votes. Where are the Bundy lovers votes?

                    Re: Favourite All American Dad?

Homer perfectly encapsulates the American slob, half-assed father (but I was using my whole ass) and neglecting husband that every man has a bit of somewhere within themselves or at least has seen in others close to them. Ignoring the shows decline into mediocrity Homer has to win against pretty much everyone save maybe Archie Bunker (from what little I know about All in the Family). Homer is more sympathetic because he doesn't mean to be a selfish lazy oaf, it's just easier that way and he's probably too dumb to realize he's doing it, while Al and Peggy have a more openly hostile relationship that may be entertaining but rarely contains the heart that made classic Marge-Homer episodes great.

That's my spiel on why my opinion is as it is. From all of us at the Pro Homers Club our message is ignore seasons 10 onwards.

Al Bundy for me in this one.
But so many great Dad's missed.

You are right though bt, most would have it down to Al and Homer.
Stan Smith and Peter Griffin for third and fourth for me.

I think Clark W. Griswold is a great American dad. Would do anything for his family (even set fire to his aunt's cat!)

Agree Andrew, I was just basing it on TV series, but Clark would be easily number one on my list.
