Ronaldo is what 65 or so years old now? The current manager wasn't there when he was recruited? It's not Van Tag's fault that Ronaldo is past his best.

It's not like he has the fountain of youth hidden away in the manager's office and he won't let Ronaldo have any
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Ronaldo can still score goals but he is the antithesis of a team player. He won’t track back or defend. The only viable options for him I can see are a big contract in the Middle East or the lifestyle / celebrity option of playing in the US. None of the big European clubs will want to touch him (ok maybe PSG) and I can’t imagine him stepping down to something like the Turkish or Portuguese leagues where he can stay in the Champions League.

Well the Lopetegui era gets going with stealing the points from Everton in the 95th minute. I’ll take ‘em where we can get them. Lampard looked a level of annoyed I’m not sure I’ve seen before.

Solid win for Man Utd over Nottingham Forrest 3-0. That puts us into 5th just outside the top 4 on 29 points.

                Re: EPL 2022-2023 Season

Jeez Leicester would have been filthy with that first half performance. Tepid and without any defencive thought after the break at home.

The Miggy Almiron train keeps steaming along. His second goal was class and ably assisted by Bruno who probably benefited from training with his national team counterparts. I love these two guys.

Good to see Joelinton have a hand in our first and then land a header for our third. If he keeps his head in the game he is so difficult to handle in the air and in space.

Noting we have played one more than Arsenal and two more than City, I'm still chuffed with our second place on the table. Europe and a decent cup run would be an amazing outcome for the year if we can keep the form up.

Leicester were horrid, granted they were sans Maddison their best player but guys like Tielemens are world class and he seems to have brought his Belgium woes home.

Our press and defense is so good at the moment, and the best part is this really is a team you can love because there’s not a huge amount of oil money there.

Joelinton, Longstaff, Almiron, Wilson, Willock, Shar are huge contributors and were pre takeover.

Where we have really benefited is at the back, Pope is a gun, Trippier (how did we land this guy!), Botman, Burn.

That guy wearing 39 goes ok too

For those who haven’t seen it, this is what defending means to the Toon presently. This was a midfielder at 3-0 up.

Hope so. Would be nice to see someone other than City win it for a change.

Huge win for Man Utd against Wolves 1-0. Rashford the difference. That win puts up into the top 4 now.

Good to see Man City drop points I somehow think they’ll come back again. Arsenal doing very well 7 points clear at the top beating Brighton 4-2.

Arsenal v Toon next. We should’ve beaten Leeds, they defended well but we didn’t take our chances. One of those frustrating games.

We still lack quality in some key areas, talk of another midfielder coming in.

Its very early in the season due to World Cup so anyones title. Gunners looking good though.
