Atletico Madrid beat Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in the all-Spanish final of the Europa League.
Falcao scored two stunning individual goals, would love from him to be at Chelsea next season.
Nice to see Chelsea's number 2 keeper keep another clean sheet. After another season or two out on loan Thibaut Courtois is going to be ready to put some pressure on Cech as our number 1.
Getting goose bumps just thinking about this Sunday morning. Just hoping it's not as nerve racking as last time, I don't know if my heart could take that again.
Chelsea - Maiden European Champions and automatic qualification into next season's tournament. Tottenham fans would be an annoyed bunch today as they miss out.
"Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. I'm just so happy - ecstatic"
Amazing come back really. I thought Chelsea were gone when they were 3-1 down to Napoli. It looked like there would be no English teams in the last 8. A little bit of sweet revenge when you win won on Penalty Kicks after losing one on Penalty Kicks (a little like Italy winning the World Cup in 2006 after being denied from the spot in 1990).
A couple of observations;
- They English beat the Germans in a Penalty shoot out ... one for the ages
- Chelsea using the good old Italian catenaccio system to deny first Barcelona and then Bayern
- Good to see a different team win for a change instead of the usual suspects (e.g. AC Milan, Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Madrid etc.)
