I would drop Cowan and Starc and bring in Warner and Bird.
No change. With it being so close Boof has to back them in. But if it were me id do Warner for Cowan without hesitation, with Hughes back to three. Starc deserves another crack for mine

I would drop Cowan but I feel for him he's an opening bat not a number 3. He either opens and Rogers misses out or he doesn't play. I would play Khawaja at 3, he has a far better technique for test cricket than Warner and has the ability to occupy the crease.
Starc doesn't deserve to be dropped after bowling ok but I'd bring in Harris just the same, proven performer.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.
Warner will not be anywhere near Lord's at the time of the second Test. On Tuesday he will depart for Australia A duty in South Africa, where he will commence his re-education as a middle-order batsman and set his sights on emulating Michael Hussey's energy and adaptability in the position.
I would prefer Khawaja to Cowan but you would imagine Cowan will get another chance.
There is some talk of Bird coming in for Starc given good control is an advantage bowling at Lords as shown time and again by McGrath.
There is also some talk about going in with an extra bowler instead of a batsman, so out Cowan in Bird.
That would be crazy IMO. Lack of runs from our batsmen was our biggest issue in the first test and they are considering playing one less? Then again perhaps they think Bird will make more runs than Cowan anyway!

Its more because the pitches are very dry this year in England.

Weather report from London.....HOT and has been for the last 2 weeks. In fact I can't remember the last time it rained. It has averaged around the high 20's (which for the English and England is a heatwave....don't laugh), getting up to around 33 today (they are warning people to keep hydrated and fear a large death toll).
The pitch will be very similar to trent Bridge in my opinion, good for batting if you can get in, but wont be a quick pitch by any stretch. Also no chance of a rain affected draw.
Will be heading to lords tomorrow, meant to be lovely and warm. Will try and get as many updates out as I can depending on WiFi. Strong Aussie contingent and we're pumped

Are you with the Fanatics?
Hopefully a better result at Lords

The Australian (newspaper) has tweeted that Harris is on the verge of selection. Not sure who for though.
