I agree Whateley the best caller. Between ABC Grandstand, AFL 360 4 nights a week, Herald Sun columns, Offsiders and books written, I'm not sure he needs more exposure though.

That's the problem in a nutshell. Although I noticed the other night channel 7 and foxtels coverage from channel 7 were a few seconds off each other which confused me for a bit. Not sure if the Foxtel coverage from 7 would fix that?

If they were going to bother throwing stats at us ( Bruce's are irrelevant have the time ) I wish they would get someone on from a proper stats company.

The problem I have with Bruce Whack-his-veiny is that he pigeon-holes clubs regardless of how they are actually playing and what their current ladder position is. To him, we are always the brides maids, the also-rans. The way he talks about us, it sounds as if he is perpetually sorry for us. I think in his head there is fixed a composite ladder based around great eras (some quite shortlived) of a few clubs who had players he got particularly excited about. He is also the biggest cheerleader for every bad move the AFL makes. He is a completely uncritical mouthpiece for the AFL and is the example par excellence of the unhealthily close relationship between the AFL and the broadcast rights holder.

Ling and Carey are both getting sucked into the way he commentates its very painful to listen to.

He's everybody's best mate too. Knows all the nicknames, and everyone's on a modified first name basis with Bruce.

It's a really good point made about him bringing Ling and Carey down with his rubbish. If there were serious commentators around them they'd maybe have to think before spewing the gobshite they do.

Plenty of "I feel don't you" tonight and a few crap statements about the game being over before halftime if Freo don't kick the next goal .. He isn't just a commentator he is god he decides when a game is over.
And his player stats that mean absolutely nothing are very high on his agenda.
Brought his A1 worst commentary ever to the game tonight.
