It seems we cannot be tortured enough. However, the reality is we only have ourselves to blame. There is only one way to approach this. It's a new 8 team season and we have a big opportunity to redeem ourselves and prove something to the football world. Are we up for it? I think we are and the preparation has started now. If we fail this test then we have spent an entire year achieving ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Harsh? No. We have not won a final since Oct 1, 2016. If sudden death doesn't motivate us then nothing will.

Less than a minute to go, three Eagles around the ball. That duck into that tackle that was called high ... what a ridiculous call. He literally ran at the man and created the contact. Seriously, even if the umpiring was even 80% wrong the Lions still don't win. They needed it to be 100% wrong. How many frees in a row did they get to finish off the game? How many?
Getting spanked in a QF isn’t a great outcome anyway.

Berry should be reported for flopping. I hate that in our game. We are going down the soccer route. We should ensure that crap stays a million miles from our game. I love the round ball game but detest that deceiving the referee is seen as a "skill".
Did 2016 finals series happen in some sort of parallel universe?
Without that to hang on to I’m not sure I’d be able to deal with what we dish out.
Without 2016 and after attending seven losing prelims .... I would have surely given the game away by now. It has been absolute pain to watch this football club shoot itself in the foot season after season. I seriously don't know why we put ourselves through it. It is just group of grown men kicking a piece of pig skin around a grass field.
This is the only thing keeping me from insanity right now.
We would get belted next week by the top 3.
I think this year is done. But the only chance is winning against a weaker opponent and trying to rebuild momentum. I’m not convinced we win though.
Bring on trade, draft and cricket.

You've reached inside my head and extracted my exact thoughts on the matter.
I feel like I'm pinning all my chance for good news on the Dogs so when it goes south it feels 10x worse.

I feel the same. I simply cannot erase that Hawthorn loss from my mind's eye nor the last 10 minutes of the Port loss. But I seriously don't want to be condemned to falling back on 2016. I want new memories to cherish.
