Could well be. Probably a good example of why you should get advice from a lawyer, not a paralegal (despite her reinventing history to claim otherwise).
But seriously, there's an ethical discussion to be had regarding this at some point. I don't have time to go into it in detail now but have Hird's lawyers acted ethically in continuing to take huge sums of money to represent him in hopelessly lost causes? Hird obviously has a multitude of problems, the most obvious is being unable to listen to anything he doesn't want to hear and the need to be told he's right. So have his lawyers strung him along telling him don't stand for this let's challenge it in court again, knowing full well they're unlikely to win but also knowing Hird will want to do it? Or is it a case of simply doing what your clients tells you to do and not trying to talk him out of it- A fool and his money type situation?
I have no sympathy for Hird, he's a horrible human being, but there should circuit breakers in the system to protect even the worst people from themselves.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
She did a law degree but was never a lawyer like she claims, and was certainly never a high profile lawyer. She also claims to have been top of her class at Melbourne Law, which again is false, a previous executive I worked was in the same year and described her as a "very mediocre student". Then again she was Tania back then rather than Tar-ni-er as she pronounces it these days.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Tania is by far the best punishment I could ever wish on James. I reckon she smacks him around. But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment

A bit like divorce lawyers saying you can get more, knowing even the most reasonable proposition was made. They really want to keep getting paid.
Lets face it if divorce was done by the basic rules. divorce lawyers wouldn't have a job.
I got divorced once and let me tell you they don't have a bone of what's right or wrong in their body.
