Depends how you describe athleticism. He can run all day at a reasonable clip, he just doesn't have burst. To some there's a spot for that attribute, and there would be for us if he could be a bit harder and show more presence when the heat's on.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I can just imagine Timmy thinking "who's that Gary is talking about? Shit where's my phone?" When Gary Lyon first mentioned Lippa's name.

And if he could fix that then we'd just play him ourselves.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

According to Fox Footy Bulldog Patrick Lipinski – was believed to have been part of Carlton’s list management discussions late last week.

          Poor Patty.

He doesn't deserve that even though he would be promised senior game time. Hope he stays personally.

They currently have Picks 25 & 61. I don’t see a player trade realistically. 61 doesn’t get it done. Pick 25 would be high. Do they rate him at Pick 25 (shuffled down to about Pick 30 with FS & others). Is the kid at Pick 30 going to offer more than Lipinski is their question. Pick 25 would be a great result, Draft Point wise.

Unfortunately we need to move on players for Darcy. Realistically, he’s probably the easiest to cover for us while hopefully brining in a huge bucket of Draft Points. Seems like win/win as he will get senior games there.

You're right BT. The heart says keep him. Grew up barracking for dogs, sitting in the stand at the GF 2016 etc. But then Roughy was let go. Still think Lippa's best is still to come.

What about a deal involving Sam Petrevski - Seton? Both players in similar situations who could benefit with a change of scenery.

I doubt we would do it given our needs in other areas. Just a thought!

I'm sure we'll be looking at points but does Carlton have a fringe ruck or key defender we should look at?

Well I'd be happy with Tom deKonig, but not even Sam Power could pull that off.

                          The return of Liam Jones!

                            On Lippi:

Sydney have spent two years of list management focused solely on kicking skills. They were terrible overall but the kids they have brought in are all elite. Lippi is an incredible inside 50 kick so I think their interest is real.

Carlton are 2 seconds away from implosion. The rumour mill suggests Teague will not coach next year and that will be announced before the last round, there will be a significant clean-out to improve their draft hand (two WA kids to be shopped, potential Marchbank payout, etc). They aren't blessed with good midfield kicks either so 2 + 2 = 5.

I would be staggered if Lipinksi is a Bulldog next year. The market is hot for mids who can kick and for all his flaws, kicking is not one of them.

I liked pre-draft Kemp who is yet to debut for them, 192cm utility (not strict area of need).
I suspect SPS ends up in back WA, especially if Freo lose Cerra.

Marchbank is coming off an ACL and is 'gettable' but who knows what sort of player he will be post injury. The irony being he was the pick 6 GWS gained from us in the Griffen-Boyd trade.
