For defensive rebound we have Gilbee, Hargrave and Lake already. Murphy and Wood were also in the backline last week. I think this is overkill and that we actually need another Morris type lockdown defender such as Dylan Addison or Tim Callan in the backline, Harbrow struggles against players like Stokes & Leon Davis when forced to be accountable
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Thorne described himself more of a flanker (HBF) than a crumber pre-draft last year. I would hope we take another crumber this year, perhaps two (a la Lynch & rookie Harbrow a couple of years back).

It's hard to comment on the right position for him because I haven't seen him play. He might be half back flanker one day, but at the moment we're chock full of those types (Gilbee, Wood, Everitt, Hargrave, Tiller etc) and his body size could be a liability in defence.

Where we do have a hole is the crumbing forward pocket position which would better suit his size and skill set (clean handling, agility). If he wants to make an AFL career, he should be gunning for that spot when he returns from injury.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Not sure that speed is necessarily a prime pre-requisite for a goal sneek. The ability to read the play and the display of tricks and skills perhaps have some relevance.

On that basis, does Hooper have any appeal?

Has a bit of Ben McGlynn about him, not sure if it is the physique.

Glenelg defender Sebastian Tape (189cm) and forward Patrick McCarthy (194cm), who almost ended up at Gold Coast last year, are also attracting plenty of attention from recruiters
Pat McCarthy played his first Reserves game on the weekend, during the break in the u18's carnival.

Good to hear. He's a very rangy type, and although he turned the ball over a few times when I saw him the other week, he makes good position and certainly looks like a future AFL player.

Will be interesting to see how he goes against the bigger bodies more frequently once the Champs are done as he is so skinny.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?
