Re: Dogs Keen on Jack Martin in Mini Draft
I'd prefer us to use pick 4 and 5 in this year's draft, if we ended up with thos picks and get as much senior experience in to the players we select as possible.
Though, I just can't see us getting the deal done for only pick five or six, and we're not in a position to allow any genuine talent to be removed from our list. While we may have a couple of good ruck prospects, at this stage we only have one ruck that is proven AFL standard.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: Dogs Keen on Jack Martin in Mini Draft
Also if GC finish on the bottom, which is a possibility, that changes the landscape again, they aren't going to give up pick 1 for the mini draft whereas there is some chance they might bid pick 2My life is a very complicated drinking game.Comment

They're % is a little better than ours as well - though if they did win 2 more games it would be a close run thing.Float Along - Fill Your LungsComment

They would be some small chance against St Kilda now that their finals aspirations are now shot. They did push the Saints hard earlier in the season."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Re: Dogs Keen on Jack Martin in Mini Draft
I don't want to spend a 1st and second round pick in a "superdraft" year drafting a WA player who may well choose to go home at a later date. Happy to take the two best available with picks 5 and 6. We need to rebuild quickly and I'm sick of trying to be clever based on the failure of our drafting since the 1999 draft which was awe-sooome. Can we just get some more quality midfielder in the mould of Wallis and Dahlhaus? Keep it simple - lets not muck around. Alternately I'm happy to trade one of those for a mini draft slot but that's about it.Comment

At the moment we have 5 picks active in the first 3 rounds and a number of fringe players who may attract interest from other clubs. If we do things properly I think we're in a good position to have our cake and eat it too.Comment

Re: Dogs Keen on Jack Martin in Mini Draft
We took Cooney and Griffen from SA...that has worked out fine. We took Ward from Spotswood and he went to GWS.
I hate this mentality. If the club does everything right then why would the players want to leave? Particularly with Martin who would be moving from Broome via Geraldton...it is not like Perth is home for him. What should I tell her? She's going to ask.Comment
