Re: North Melbourne where are they at?
I'm not sure you can presume that they got this very wrong. Shaw was universally loved by the football world for a while there for reinvigorating the roos. He was like breath of fresh air, the players believed in him and they were soaring , chock full of fresh talent and smart recruiting moves (Higgins for example). 6 months ago he was doing great.

Re: North Melbourne where are they at?
I'm getting a feeling from a trend in posts that Dancin' Douggy doesn't rate free agency as it stands. Anyone else getting that vibe?
Really hope Shaw gets his recovery time and it's quality recovery. He's actually a really great story from a football perspective, completely maligned as a player at his first club, made to look a fool as a youngster when it was all too much for him. Found his feet as a player but moved on because of being part of ordinary culture at his original club only to make good (and for his original club to benefit as well) at a new club to win a premiership. And then to work his way through coaching ranks to land a senior coaching position when many other white bread candidates have failed at doing so.
We don't know what's happened to him this year, but I can't cop that it was a bad decision to put him in charge. This has been a shit year for a lot of people for different reasons, and it's also possible none of that has had anything to do with his issues. Just hope he gets well.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

So Adelaide will get the 2nd pick of the draft for Crouch? I think end of 1st round is more likely

We might hear a lot more to this in time but I know many North fans were impressed by him and they were very optimistic for the 2020 season. This has unraveled in a big way for the club and their supporters

He will be discussed, I don't think it will be a long discussion though

I heard some talk about Gary Ayres and I gotta say, North could do a lot worse.

Re: North Melbourne where are they at?
Its just not a coaching vacancy if Gary Ayres hasn't thrown his hat in the ring

There's a reason for that though.
He's taken his AFL licks and overseen a pretty successful state league club and his players love him.
Sure he gets tossed around when this discussion is had, but he makes way more sense than a lot of other names.
North clearly need an experienced and strong coach now.

Because David King mentioned him.
Do they actually have the cash for a high profile coach? They sacked a couple of assistants and now Shaw. How much of that comes out of the soft cap?
More of an In Bruges guy?

Wouldn’t cost a lot it’s not like he is sort after now, personally I wouldn’t touch him, very old school now and has a history of players getting disgruntled with him.
They need a coach who can bring the whole club together like a Fagan.
I would have a good look at Ayres.
