Re: 2020 Player movement
Re-signing Trengove would have to be one of the more unlikely scenarios I’ve seen pitched in quite some time.
Still, it is Bevo....

We need backup ruckman, so would be silly to get rid of Trengove before getting someone else.
If he is prepared to fill that role, so be it.

We've had him for years and haven't played him. What's going to change?

You must have missed Cooney's 5 team mega trade fantasy yesterday then...

If we are not going to play a backup ruckman it might as well be the one we already have? No point bringing in someone new to also not play them and at least he is a solid citizen and seemingly very popular in the playing group.
I'm not necessarily advocating keeping Trengove but it does make some sense if we aren't going to get another genuine ruck option we see as best 22.

Yeah I agree with that. I get the feeling the longer this goes the more I'm convinced that the status quo will remain and we'll see the same old crap rolled out next year. We really aren't pushing the bar.

Haha no, I didn’t - I guess it’s a question of where credibility lies....not that the little paper is the gold standard either...

Jack Higgins on the move and agreed by Richmond to sort a trade.
Is he the goalsneak we should chase?

I would certainly look at him over Hannan. He has that excitement about him, but I doubt we will look at him.
I will never see #16 the same!!

Yes I would definitely be interested in Higgins. He has speed, energy and work ethic, comes from a great system and has an open minded, woman of the people by his side who could "culture up" the Whitten Oval.
So yes from me.

Re: 2020 Player movement
Devils advocate, is Higgins a true small forward?
He's clever and neat, not sure he's overly quick/athletic and what we need. Feel like he's a smaller/more energetic version of Wally but I could be wrong. It's been a while since we've seen him.

He's certainly a clever forward who can find the goals. May lack a bit of pace compared to your Bolton's and Baker's.
Not sure if it means anything but he's also great mates with Cody Weightman which may be attractive to both.

Re: 2020 Player movement
Higgins would be a nice in. He’s quick and can play as a small forward, but he’s got a ton of upside as well. I think he projects into a half forward Robbie Gray type that you can put in the middle as a point of difference.
This is a real move. Hope we have the picks to get it done.
