I'm seeing them for the first time and never been a massive fan,but they're probably playing for the last time.

I'm going Remi. Saw them in 1996 (Rod Laver) and 2010 (Etihad) - they are absolutely sensational live. Basically they play all the greatest hits from the Bon era and most of 'Back in Black', with 'For Those about to Rock' and 'Thunderstruck' as the only 2 songs they generally play post 1981 (except for a couple of crap new songs from whatever rubbish new album they are contractually obliged to flog). They still have fearsome chops live, unlike some of the other elder rock & roll statesmen still plugging away on the live circuit.

I heard them at the Myer Music Bowl in 1983. The problem was it had occurred to about 100 000 other people to come along for a free listen as well by standing in the parkland outside the Bowl. And it had occurred to most of them that they could drink as much grog as they could transport to the park.

Still. It was a top night.

Seen them in 91 and 96, both at Rod Laver, they were brilliant and one of the bands I have seen perform live.
In 1991 we had seats in the first row on level one and Angus played on a rising platform within metres of us.
That said it is twenty years on and I will stick with the memories and not spoil them by seeing them now.

On a side note AC/DC would have to be one of the biggest bands to have made money from merchandising.
In Australia barely a week would go by without seeing a t-shirt etc, and when I have traveled to the States barely a day would have passed without seeing multiple shirts.

I have seen ACDC a few times but the last was in the 70's. The first time was in 1974 as the first band on at a Lou Reed concert, Festival hall. This was pre Bon Scott. Then I saw them at the Totty Hotel with Bon Scott and a few years later Festival Hall. I must admit after Bon Scott died, I went off them.

I was on my way to cricket training when I heard about Bon Scott's death. I was walking up the dirt track alongside McIvor reserve off Francis st listening to a Shield match on a little transistor radio I had with me when they had a news flash.

Was driving taxis that night and picked up some fans from the bowl who terrorised me all the way to Bayswater with what they were going to do with my intestines etc....genuinely uncomfortable. They tipped me and wanted to shake my hand at the end. Low life.
Saw AC/DC as support act for Frank Zappa at Festival Hall in years prior but my prejudice against music that wasn't innovative, stopped me from enjoying it at the time. Zappa was sensational.

I'm thinking of going now. I was in the similar situation last night with Kiss Remi. I'm not a big fan and to be honest I only recognised about half the songs they played but really enjoyed it. They put on a great show! I know a bit more of ACDC's songs so would enjoy it as well.

Fun interview, loved Norman's interviews. Frank had a brilliant ability to see the talent in others and to improvise with them. Not really on display at its best here though

Mick Jagger got angry with Gunston, other celebs didn't understand him. Zappa was onto him, The Mothers were very theatrical originally, kinda avant garde vaudevillian if there can be such a thing, coming from a similar place to Gunston.
