    Vale Roddy Piper

Rowdy Roddy Piper has died from cardiac arrest at the age of 61. Hot Rod was one of my favourite wrestlers and Piper's pit was always a highlight.

A great wrestler, a great entertainer and a great B grade Actor! They Live was one of my favourite B grade action movies during the 80s. R.I.P Hot Rod.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

My favourite wrestler. I loved the double act with him and cowboy Bob and Piper's Pit in the old WWF in the mid '80s.

Vale Rod and thanks for all the laughs.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

A true great of the Wrestling World.

A few years ago both he and Superfly Jimmy Snuka walked out for WWE's Royal Rumble. The place went bonkers.

I still think he's one of the best heels of all time. R.I.P. Hot Rod.

Sadly it's no shock each time a wrestler passes away.

From Wrestlemania 1 where he competed with Mr Wonderful against Hogan and Mr. T Roddy was an icon as a sports entertainer. There were his bloodied matches with Hogan and Flair to his over the top interviews on Pipers Pit. Invested wisely unlike Flair and was living very comfortably. So long The Rowdy One.

I never got it, but I respected the joy wrestling brought people. There's many a more niche perversion to be had than wrestling, and most of them are more harmful.

Condolences to those who were in to it, and to RRP's family and friends.

It's funny Jeemak. Grown men in costumes play acting is hilarious.

No, in the Rumble itself. They came in consecutively, squared off for a minute or so, then were eliminated by Kane.

The handicap match with the Dragon was pretty awesome too.

                        Talking about the Superfly

The 72-year-old Hall of Famer has had a portion of his stomach and his lymph nodes removed
WWE superstar Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
The 72-year-old Hall of Famer’s health battle was revealed when his wife read out a statement on 1Wrestling.com about the recent death of Jimmy’s longtime wrestling rival and friend, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.
Carole Snuka then went on to explain why Superfly hadn’t expressed his sentiments himself.
“Jimmy’s been diagnosed with stomach cancer,” she told host Bill Apter on Sunday. “They have removed the cancer, and they removed a portion of his stomach and his lymph nodes.

The doctor said he did very well. They’re very happy with the outcome,” she added.
Fiji-born Snuka began his wrestling career in 1970 and the former bodybuilder went on to become one of the biggest names in the WWF and subsequently, WWE. In June 1984, Snuka became embroiled in an intense feud with Piper, then one of the WWF’s top villains, who infamously hit him over the head with a coconut during an interview, leading to a series of grudge matches.
Piper died of cardiac arrest in his Hollywood home on Friday at age 61, and numerous wrestling greats have since publicly mourned his death.

Meanwhile, Snuka “still has a long road ahead of him, and the doctor says he’s an amazingly strong man … we all know how strong Jimmy is,” Carole went on to say about her husband. “Jimmy can take a beating. He says he’s ready for this fight.
“He also wants to let his fans know that he’s not done yet … He is in a struggle right now, but he’s gonna be perfectly fine,” she continued. “And he will be back and visiting with his fans as soon as he feels up and ready to go.”
Both Snuka’s son, Jimmy Reiher, Jr., and daughter, Tamina Snuka, are also wrestlers.

I didn't that jimmy Snuka is Fijian. He was billed as Tongan IIRC. Or was it Guam?

It's funny though that they said he was from Tonga presumably because most Americans wouldn't be able to cope with hearing the word Fiji without rising up and overthrowing the Freemasons or something.
