What entertainment podcast are you listeng to ?

I listen to podcasts when working out and about and couldn't find a thread on non-sporting podcasts and thought some ideas on what podcasts Woofers like to listening to would be a good idea and may give me some new material.

I've left out local Radio shows, so some I enjoy listening to are -

No Such Thing as a Fish -for those that love 'QI' it is a must, the QI Elves ( researchers for QI) are very funny and informative and bounce off each other brilliantly.

The Little Dum Dum Club - I know a few on Woof have mentioned this podcast already but Tommy and Carl provide plenty of laughs and often have an 'Australian A list' of guests. They can go a bit to far on occasions.

Conversations with Richard Fidler - great interviewer and its quite often the guests you haven't heard of who give the best stories.

Lee Mack - a favourite in our house and if you like 'Duck Quacks Don't Echo" you will enjoy the many interviews available on podcast.'Lee Mack on Absolute Radio' and 'Lee Mack Stands in for Frank Skinner' are good listening.

Rick Stevens Notable Travellers - has some great interviews from all sorts of travellers.

Alan Davies as Yet Untitled - Alan has four guests each week and with many laughs and jokes the aim to come up with a title for the episode.

Wilosophy - Bulldogs own Wil Anderson searching for the meaning of life.

Friday Night Comedy - bit of a light English version of GNW.
It's better to die on our feet than live on our knees.

The Tuesday Club-alan Davies and some Arsenal tragics discussing what's been going on in the Goonersphere since the last time they spoke. From a parochial point of view its some of the best sportscasting being done anywhere in the world.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

The Bugle Audio Newspaper for a Visual World

This is a sample of why the Bugle is great. And it doesn't even include 'Hotties from History'

Men In Blazers - 2 expat Brits in the US talk "Soccer". Genuinely funny discussion of the EPL, US football and sometimes pop culture. I don't even get to watch the EPL and I tune in religiously.

Radiolab - Often fascinating stories with a scientific bent

I Was There Too - Comedian Matt Gourley interviews with actors who had bit parts in some of the great films of history. A podcast where even if I"m not that interested in the upcoming episode I nearly always get sucked in.

Turned Out A Punk - Lead Singer of *!*!*!*!ed Up, Damien Abraham interviews people, usually musicians but sometimes comedians or actors about their experience growing up as "punks". Can get way too much into the minutiae of certain scenes but if you know the music it can be a pretty enjoyable listen.

The Smartest Man In The World - Greg Proops rants about stuff, talks baseball and does Jeremy Irons impressions. Often interesting and funny although I've probably just about outstayed my welcome with this one as it is getting repetitive after a couple of years.

I was a big fan of Zach Lowe and Jonah Keri's podcasts on Grantland but ESPN just killed that off.

            Others I enjoy:
*Often pick up episodes of WTF with Marc Maron when the guest interests me. Has had some great recent interviews with Steve Albini, Mike Watt, Ian McKellen among others. Can't do him on a regular basis though.

            * The Bugle as Hujsh has pointed out, although they seem to be dying out now with Oliver's TV career burgeoning

            * Infinite Monkey Cage comedy and science collide
            Park that car
            Drop that phone
            Sleep on the floor
            Dream about me

Not so much entertainment but still pretty entertaining are:

Rex Factor-each episode rates the Kings and Queens of England in chronological order since before Alfred the Great on factors including success in battle, notoriety, justice, length of reign and hoe any successors they left. The best Monarchs are awarded the Rex Factor and are eliminated until the winner of the Rex Factor is named. They finally completed the English kings about six months ago-it took about 3 and a 1/2 years-and have recently started rating the Scottish kings. It's funny, informative and entertaining presented by two guys who love this subject for all the right reasons. It's mostly about Sex, violence, intrigue, internecine rivalry and absurdity.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

One of my favourites too. The best fact from the most recent eoisode I heard is that the reigning French Scrabble champion can't speak French. He's a New Zealander with a photographic memory who memorised the French scrabble dictionary and is considered so good he is called on to adjudicate what French words are valid during matches.

Mine was in the same episode : the Scrabble scoring system came from monitoring the front page of the New York Times for three months and counting the amount of times each letter appeared.

The Little Dum Dum Club is my fave

A new one, 10 questions with Adam Zwar is definitely worth subscribing to. The best AFL one is easily JunkTime AFL Podcast with Adam Rozenbacks and Michael Chamberlin, closely followed by the also new Titus 'n Paradise Podcast (Titus O'Reilly)

And for a comedy slant on AMerican (and some AUstralian history), The Dollop is brilliant.

And that might have affected the scoring bias depending on whether or not he included the 'w' and the 'Y' in New York, from the banner. God I love stupid facts like that.

The Joe Rogan experience is my go to, all things...everything really. UFC fighters, scientists, sociologists it can be a great listen. Joe isn't for everyone and says some idiotic things but you have to respect his want to learn and improve himself

I also really enjoy Sunday Night Safran with John Safran and Father Bob, discuss all things in regards to religion, ethnicity, race etc. (and no, I'm not a religious person). The banter bwtween the two is excellent.

A mate put me onto "the Howie games" podcast a week ago, and I've been binging it big time. The guests are brilliant and Howie has surprised me how good he is at interviewing people. If your looking for a sports podcast, I couldn't recommmend it any higher
