AFL to an iPad - Can you stream it to TV?

I'm very computer illiterate. I was wondering if you are a paying subscriber to the AFL to watch games online on your iPad, can then stream the game to a TV like chrome or something?

Re: AFL to an iPad - Can you stream it to TV?

I have a Chrome TV thingy and it enables me to watch most things I watch on my iPad on my TV. There's an icon with a TV screen that I can click on if it's available and it's available for nearly everything. The only thing so far it doesn't show up on is a website I have found that shows streams of EPL matches.

I've neve had the AFL subsription but a friend told me he used his internet TV device (it might have been chrome but I can't remember.) to broadcast AFL games via his ipad successfully..
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Pretty sure you can't do it.

Like TD I thought you'd be able to do it using Google Chrome although I've never tried it myself as I haven't got one and wouldn't vouch for the quality.

It's called a Chromecast. It plugs into your TV, and your computer/phone/tablet tell it what to show on the TV. Normally if you use the Google Chrome browser you can stream whatever is on your screen (video or not) to the TV by pressing the Chromecast icon on the browser (after installing the add-on). The Netflix and Youtube apps have the Chromecast icon in them as well. I only just got one for Christmas so can't say whether it works for AFL Live Pass

$50 at JB Hifi. Works well, only issue I've had with it is geofiltering is harder to get around for Netflix USA etc.

I think you need to use the AFL Live Pass app to stream the games not just a browser, otherwise you could do it for sure. The quality comes down to the speed of your internet connection

              Chromecast that's what it's called.

I use a cable as our internet is very slow and it seem to take forever to stream, but I also have used my apple TV in the past.

Yeah sorry, Chromecast is what I meant and definitely via the app.

So purchase the AFL Live Pass app, buy a chrome cast and then stream it?

Edit: Telstra fine print says the broadcast agreement means it is limited to the screen of the device.?

In that case it probably wouldn't have a chromecast button so you couldn't do it

Might be another way I don't know

Chromecast won't work for AFL live pass

Also Chromecast requires a USB slot, which the IPAD doesn't have.
