    RIP - Alan Rickman

Another to die of cancer at age 69. Great actor, great voice.

Mostly known for his role as Snape in the Harry potter series, but stared in many films over the years.

    Re: RIP - Alan Rickman

When I just jumped onto this and read "RIP Alan Rickman", what my brain registered was "RIP Ian Rickman."
Got quite a shock for a second, there! "Oh no, what happened to Chops?!"

Alan Rickman's Hans Gruber performance in Die Hard was brilliant, whilst he stole the show in Kevin Costner's ordinary, but successful "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" in his role as the Sheriff of Nottingham. A very talented actor.

Probably a more talented actor than Chops was a footballer (sorry Chops! But relieved to hear you're safe and well!)

Sad loss. His roles at Hans Gruber and The Sheriff were brilliant.

          Ditto.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

By Grabthar's hammer, he shall be avenged...

From Obadiah Slope to Severus Snape, from Alexander Dane to Colonel Brandon, and of course cello-playing Jamie the ghost, he was in some of my all-time favourite movies. His voice could melt chocolate. I am so sad today.

An amazing voice and to think he was brought up in West London Council flats.
