    X Files

Anyone been watching the new miniseries?

The first episode was really good, the second was so so but the third has descended into a bit of a farce. I mean men in monster costumes? pleeeeease.

They would have been better tying up the lose ends from the series and exploring Mulder and Scullys' stories more in depth since we last saw them in my opinion. Monsters are a waste of time and money.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Yeah, i agree. The first two were awesome and just like the old stuff.

But that third episode was really, really bad and it felt like they were taking the piss. I struggled to get through it. Im worried about the test of the season now.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. My 13 yo who has been hanging out for the miniseries like a lot of people were hanging out for Star Wars loved the first two eps, was fidgeting ten minutes into the third ep and was out of the room by the half hour. It's been nearly a week and she hasn't asked what happened in the end yet.

I've literally stopped about ten minutes in watching this on catch-up and maybe I won't bother with the rest of the episode! Didn't someone say that the third episode was the best?? Was that someone on here? Or am I dreaming?

My memory of the original series' back in the 90s were that they were very hit and miss also. Some people liked the more lurid self contained episodes, others liked the more drawn out storylines that played on the government conspiracy angles, others the Mulder/Scully dynamic. Sometimes it felt like there were 3 types of show being made at the same time.

I was a big fan for a while but felt the show ran out of steam and can't get too excited about the re-boot. On the other hand, talking of 90s TV revisited, seriously excited to see where David Lynch takes us with Twin Peaks....

Men in monster costumes? Sounds like a Scooby Doo episode!
More of an In Bruges guy?

Hm, I watched a bit more and saw Mulder with his shirt off... so it's not all bad!

If they used Murray Hewitt and had Brett & Jemaine come in maybe it could've worked. I had it on mute and saw about 5 minutes and got the gist it wasn't worth the catch up tv time. I'm not even sure I'll finish the series unless they push the smoking man in the ads.

Must have missed that one. I zoned out about halfway through and started to think about footy.

The first Ep was really good. UFOs crashing, alien conspiracies, the full monty. They put the band back together, but Ep 3 jumped the shark.

It wasn't even a good costume.
