    Vale Jerry Lewis

Possibly the funniest man and the greatest comedian who ever lived Jerry Lewis died today at tee age of 91 at home in California.

    RIP funny man.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Absolute legend and genius, so many great stories out there about his charity work and big heart.
Will be sadly missed by many and is one of the irreplaceable ones.

As a kid loved all the movies with Dean Martin, he was certainly a favourite. Had a great life and will be missed by friends and family.

I met him once in 2010.

For those of you that don't know, he had a long standing association with Firefighters in the US, and he was doing something related to his fund-raising activities here in Melbourne.

He was putting on a big show and dance for the crowd while his minders were trying to give him the wind up. He ended his spiel by saying: "I want to shake the hand of every Firefighter in this room". There were about 100 of us there, but true to his word he met with every one of us.

What surprised me was how quiet and warm he was in the brief one on one time I had with him. He was all noise and goofiness when we weren't with him, but he turned it off to be really in the moment when he was talking to individuals. He had real presence and I was grateful for that opportunity.

Vale Jerry. Possibly the smartest and funniest idiot there ever was.

Loved Martin & Lewis when I was young. Then Jerry became a very funny comedian in his own right. A very generous benefactor to a number of charities and causes too. Another iconic comedian gone.
