    Vale Drew Morphett

    So sad to hear Drew Morphett died last night watching our game, at the age of 69. To me Drew was the best sports commentator I have ever heard. Whether it was Footy, Commonwealth and Olympic games, Golf and Cricket, or any sports, he was just brilliant.

    RIP, and condolences to family and friends.

      One of my favourites. Pretty much the opposite of most of the callers going around.

          I was certainly a big supporter of Drew.

                  Met him at the races briefly a couple of times. A real character. Enjoyed hearing Sandy Roberts speaking about him this morning.

                          Can't agree with this more. Such a consummate and knowledgeable professional.

                          Seemed like a great guy too. So sad.

                                  His voice alone reminds me of the 80's.

                                      I remember Drew hosting the Winners one night wearing a Footscray scarf because he lost a bet. He was just a legend.

                                      I admire the Drew Morohett's of this world. He took a hobby (or maybe an obsession) and turned it into his living and was very successful at it. I always tell my kids that is the secret to life.
                                      They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

                                                  Yep. We all have to go someway and sitting on the couch in front of the footy on a cold winter night in front of a warm fire sounds ideal to me.
