    Vale Tim Fischer

A man who wasn't from my side of politics but who seemed a decent bloke. He died from luekemia last night surrounded by family and friends.

Vale Tim. You were one of the good ones.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

A sad shame. A great rural voice in politics (leader on Nat's & Deputy PM) and after politics. I personally think the Nat's have never recovered from his retirement. One of the most decent men we've seen.

One of a dying breed of good and honourable people in Politics.

Steering the National Party through the National Firearms Agreement was an achievement in itself.

Kim Beazley described him as "one of the genuinely love people" in the Parliament when he resigned as Deputy Prime Minister.

Quite young , did I hear he was fighting it for ten years ? Only seems like yesterday he was around.

Yep, he was diagnosed ten years ago. It's one of the reasons he left parliament-he had resigned as deputy PM some time before he left the parliament. The other was the birth of a son with autism, I admired Fischer's priorities because most politicians wouldn't have given up their career to look after a child.
