    Bushfires

It’s been a hell of a start to the fire season and my fingers are crossed that no WOOFers are impacted either directly or indirectly with friends and family.

Thoughts are with anyone feeling the impact of it and if any WOOFers have been hit by it, yell out if you need anything - I’m happy to help where I can (food, clothing, donations etc) and I’m sure I’m not alone here.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Good thread Comrade, I too am willing to help out for anyone caught up.

What a shocker it has been this summer season, and I am afraid it is going to continue.

    I hope everyone is safe.

      Re: Bushfires

When my dad retired he was under the misapprehension that mum had told him they would go and live in the country. I knew there was never in a chance in a million years that my mum who grew up in Footscray would have said she would be happy to go and live in the back of beyond (Or Bendigo as others call it)

Anyway the point is thank Christ mum stood her ground and point blank refused to consider it because now that dad is dead, mum could have been stuck in the middle of a bushfire zone with no way for me to drive up and get her because the roads were impassable.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Stay safe out there for anyone in those bushfire affected areas.

These fires just continue to burn. I think this is the worse season ever for the number of fires in all states. The Federal Government ignored and ignored the warnings last year which left the states under resourced.

It's amazing more people haven't lost their lives. Hopefully no more are lost at all.

I reckon that the one bonus out of being stuck in this shitshow would be hitching a ride on a Black Hawk or a Chinook. It would be awesome.

I've ridden a few helicopters and been winched from sea a few times, I don't think the novelty would override the stress of having your community evacuated and half the town's houses burn down.

Yep, but you're overlooking the fact that I am as mad as a march hare and if I don't get that sort of stimulation externally then my brain goes off tap anyway.

Already over $275K, will it surpass $1 million?

I own the freehold of a house in Yarraville worth around 1.5 mil and I'd consider a clean swap for Shane Warne's Baggy Green.

Nobody else's (except maybe Bradman or Trumper) just Warnie.

Turns out the Commowealth Bank purchased Warnie's baggy green. It will go on a national tour before being put on permanent display in the Bradman museum in Bowral.

Great result and great conversation I'm having with myself here.
