Re: Vale Tim Brooke-Taylor
I can remember sitting in class at school talking through the previous day's Goodies episode. It's funny how we could see it just the once (no VCRs back then) but could recall it forensically the next dayThey say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

I cried when I heard this. Tim was my favourite Goodie. Did a binge watch with my 15 year old yesterday. RIP Timbo.Comment

Re: Vale Tim Brooke-Taylor
I was flicking around goodies thing online and found this about the ‘ecky thump’ episode, which I’d not ever heard:
“The episode is infamous for the documented example of a man laughing to death. Fifty-year-old Alex Mitchell could not stop laughing for a continuous 25-minute period—almost the entire length of the show—and suffered a fatal heart attack as a result of the strain placed on his heart. Mitchell's widow later sent the Goodies a letter thanking them for making his final moments so pleasant”.Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment
