    Eddie Van Halen RIP

Iconic guitarist Eddie Van Halen has lost his long battle with throat cancer. He was an icon to the music industry and inspired millions of musicians around the world. My thoughts go out in particular to his son Wolfgang and his brother Alex Van Halen. RIP Eddie.

Eddie Van Halen, considered one of rock music's greatest guitar players and a founding member of the hugely successful rock band named after him and his drummer brother, dies of cancer at the age of 65.

Some ripping tributes from his ex wife and son. You can read between the lines that he was a fine human.

    RIP guitar god guy.

Well said EasternWest. I know a few musicians around the US and they have nothing but positive words to say about Eddie. It’s just unfortunate Eddie wasn’t able to see through a farewell tour to say goodbye/thank you to the fans. Some wonderful tributes coming through on social media. “Jump”, “Panama”, “Hot for Teacher”, “why can’t this be love”, “eruption” and “unchained” are just some of the talent this man possessed. A legend.

RIP Eddie. One of the greatest guitarists. Can’t wait to see the back of 2020.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

RIP - Eddie was too young to die at 65. Smoked like a chimney, so didn't help the throat.

Busted up listening to some tracks today.

I was hoping to see them at Soundwave a few years back, which was slated for TABCorp Park in Melton. They were going to come out but it all fell over.

Ain't Talkin 'bout Love is one of the greatest songs of all time.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
