The "Don't Argue" has a fascinating history.

I always thought the "Don't Argue" had its genesis in the VFL. I was wrong big time.
Australia, 1914—the straight-arm fend-off—from advertisements for J. C. Hutton Pty Ltd, depicting a man putting a hand in another man’s face and saying “Don’t argue—Hutton’s bacon is the best”…

Maybe you remember this: On Sunday's World of Sport the player who came on to talk about the game just played always used to get 4 or 5 gifts, one of which was always a Hutton's Gold Medal Ham.

In one program, St. Kilda half back Mordy Bromberg, was the guest player. Lou Richards couldn't wait to present him with the leg of ham. I don't know if Mordy took offence. It certainly wasn't meant to be offensive. More like Lou playing the gormless dickhead.

Mordy Bromberg is now a highly respected Judge of the Federal Court of Australia and a really good one too.
