        Oh no.

I'm putting on Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop right now!
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

As someone who never really came to grips with using a pick, I very much admired and took comfort in his unique finger (or thumb) technique. He gave me the assurance I needed that I could still aspire to playing lead without being proficient at using a pick.
              RIP Jeff Beck.
