Hi all, am planning a trip mid October for Japan and sth Korea (Seoul and Busan). I fly into Tokyo, and then half way thru the trip, ferry to Busan, train to Seoul and fly back into Osaka to continue Japan . What I need to know is, is this a problem immigration wise ? Do I have to fill out immigration forms going back into Japa? I guess I do and can this be done on the plane or will I have to go thru some similar means like you do with Japan Web? If anyone has done this please let me know. I don?t want it to be a major issue.

Re: Travelling Japan/sth Korea
For Korea, even though you don't need a visa, you will need to complete a Korea Electronic Travel Authorisation before you leave. It takes 3 days for approval so do it in advance.
For Japan, you don't need a Visa for stays up to 90 days, which means you can enter and exit with an Australian Passport.
I leave for Korea on April 13 for a couple of weeks - can't wait.FFC: Established 1883

Will be going from Japan to Seoul and then back into Japan for 4 days before flying back to Australia. Is it going to be a problem re-entering Japan in such a short time ?I will never see #16 the same!!Comment

Re: Travelling Japan/sth Korea
Following is a copy of the email I received from the Embassy
Thank you for your reply.
For Australian passport holders, Japanese government does not require to obtain a visa prior to visit Japan.
You can process your boarding on the day of your departure, and immigration officer in Japan will grant the visa upon your entry to Japan. This visa will allow you to stay up to 90 days in Japan.
After your trip to Europe, you can visit Japan again and the immigration officer in Japan will grant you another visa allows you to stay in Japan up to 90 days again.
Japanese Immigration officer could ask you the reason why you are making a frequent visit to Japan, and please response them truly the reason for your return to Japan.
Regarding to the Visit Japan Web, you can choose single-entry temporary visitor’s visa for both trips to Japan.
If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Re: Travelling Japan/sth Korea
Well, I have the same issue, except I am going to Europe after Japan and then back to Australia via Tokyo. So I contacted the Japanese Embassy in Canberra and it seems no problem at all. I can leave till when I travel, in which case the officer at passport controls handles the Visa or I can do it electronically on Visit Japan Web, once for first entry into Japan and the once for return entry.

Be super diligent if you’re booking through Airbnb. We turned up to Tokyo only to find out that the accomodation we had booked was in a building that banned Airbnb and had kicked out our host because of it.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment

They actually did. Very positive ones!
We managed to get a full refund and eventually a hotel room, but spending a whole day lugging a bag around trying to call a person you slowly realise more or less doesn’t exist is no fun.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment
