    Mancaves

One of my favourite programs on Foxtel is Mancaves, on a thursday evening just before 8 on the Lifestyle channel, their team goes around and turns empty rooms into a haven for men & their toys, bars, plasma's, pool tables, all the gear depending on what style they want.

They have put a golf putting machine in one, made up a baseball fan's cave with memorabilia & so on.

Got me thinking, what would your ideal mancave look like, what style, what would you like in their, and just so this thread doesn't descriminate, the ladies can also have a crack..

For me, i would go the typical sports bar theme with Dogs memorabilia, mainly weg posters on the wall, a pool table - darkish red felt, the old style jukebox in the corner, a plasma on the wall and naturally, a bar.

Yeah my mancave would have Dogs memorabilia decked out to the max, bar mats n all. Pinball machine or a Daytona USA arcade machine. Jukebox another must, big plasma, bar and neon lighting with a novelty bar sign..

One of my cousin's knows a bloke in the fire brigade who has a room dedicated to the red white and blue faith. There were photos of this room in the herald-sun last year when they ran there annual footy fans survey. From what my cousin tells me and from the photos in the paper it's exactly as I would have my mancave.

I'd set it up around my instruments, somewhere to play/record without upsetting the others. Couch, TV, bar, slurpee machine, all the essentials really.

There was one episode that you may have enjoyed SoS, a punk rocker with his instruments, they made him up a small sound proofed booth with recording fascilities, i'm pretty sure they used some kind of double glazed glass as a door & side panel so you could see into the booth from the room, along with the bar, couch etc etc.

Sounds exactly like how I pictured it!

I've alwasy thought that a "mancave" is very important. Usually the woman rules the bedroom and how it is set out, the kids run riot in the lounge type areas and the dude is pushed into the shed. But sheds are very rare these days, thus mancaves = vital for our wellbeing.
