I'm the same, may get in trouble for beating the shit out of the tweenies up the front but Clutch are my favourite band, and FNM will be massive.

No, not to excited, but I would go to see The Eagles of Death Metal.

And please, crush them all. Put them out of our, and even their own misery.

Seeing FNM will tick off about the last of my favourite 90's bands I never got to see as a broke teenager - I've seen Bungle & Tomahawk since, but I can't wait to see Patton sing with FNM.

I saw them twice at Festering hall. Patton did the Portishead song which goes 'I just want be a women'. Amazing band. The old singer wasn't bad either.

Remember 'Alternative Nation', that ill-fated one-off 1995 festival at the Olympic Park precinct? FNM were the headline act and were fantastic - this was not long after the release of 'King for a day'. Aside from FNM, there were some fantastic and diverse acts on the bill - Nine Inch Nails, The Tea Party, Lou Reed, L7, Cosmic Psychos, Ice T and Body Count, Tool, just a brilliant day's entertainment.

Chuck Mosely was the original singer - 'We care a lot' has aged very well, as has the majority of the FNM back catalogue. What a shame that all those nu-metal jerk-off bands from the late 90's made poor imitation copies of the unique sound that FNM developed 10 years earlier.

Don't forget the mighty Helmet from that line-up.

Everyone I knew that went to that said it was the worst day weather-wise you could've got for a festival....and in hindsight I'd give anything to have gone to that.

Both Tool & Faith No More still feature in my favourite bands of all time - but I got turned onto both bands in a massive way after Aenema & King for a day respectively.... and I know KFOD,FFAL had come out by then, but a) I hadn't heard it yet and b) I rarely went to see gigs until I turned 18 (I was 17 at the time)

That would have been Betty era tour for Helmet I assume - I have aftertaste, I dig that album as well. Their drummer John Stanier ended up in Tomahawk who I did see at the old Palace in St Kilda

Tea Party as well! At least I've seen them (about 6 times)

Oh and Sedat, didn't it make you want to puke every time someone like Fred Durst would cite FNM as an influence?

Yeah Betty era, my favourite album.
Helmet without John Stanier is not Helmet.
You are correct with the Tomahawk reference, their first album is epic.
He also plays in Battles and The Mark Of Cain.
Also did one album with Pitchshifter.

I saw Stainer play with Mark of Cain at the Palace in 02, supported by Warped. Headline act was Rollins Band. That was an awesome gig.

The Tea Party were one of the few international acts that played Canberra when they toured so I saw them a few times as well, Edges of Twilight & Tempation era.
